Ron Paul
I admit it...I'm drinking the Ron Paul kool-aid. I might have to withdraw my endorsement of Senator Whitehouse and throw my weight behind Dr. Paul. The more I read of him, the more I like. It's refreshing to hear a candidate be honest and speak his mind -- intelligently -- even if it might make him unpopular with his party or the general public. Although I don't agree with some of his positions (which of course will happen with any presidential candidate), right now he's closer than anyone else to my ideal candidate. It seemed to me that most people who don't know better would find fault with his comments about 9/11 from the debate a couple of nights ago, and the media immediately spun it (the headline on CNN: "Ron Paul blames America for 9/11"). Interestingly however, Paul has been leading the pack in polls after the debate on both Fox and MSNBC. And yet, it seems the media has already decided who the candidates should be, Giuliani and Clinton. If either of those two get elected, I think it will just be business as usual in Washington.
From Ron Paul's website:
Brief Overview of Congressman Paul’s Record
He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.
He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

ron paul?? sound like a candy bar. hey give me a ron paul one mars bar and a bag of chips. i return a portion of my budget to the gov every year too. heard a clip of him discussing the 911 commission as a coverup the coverup being that the gov knew about 911 in advance? lots of nevers there. "the purpose of govt is to protect the secrecy and privacy of all individuals" find that in "original intent"
Ron Paul also sounds a lot like RuPaul, who was (is?) a giant black trannie from the late 90s I think :)
I would be curious to hear that sound/tv clip...I haven't heard him say that the government knew about 9/11 beforehand. That's a little out there. Where are you getting these quotes from?
It's interesting that Giuliani did a lot of work for Rupert Murdoch while he was out of office...not hard to see why FOX is pushing him so hard. Has your boy Thompson definitely said he will not run, or is he still waiting to make up his mind?
as far as i know still waiting. pretty early still but he is putting a lot of stuff out there ie wsj. the 911 remark was a sound bite of him at a rally speaking with a student as he made his way through the crowd. the quote is from a transcript of the last gop debate. how about this immigration proposal. there you see i did it without thinking. the problem is not immigration but illegal aliens. 1000 page bill, crafted behind closed doors, absent open debate or public scrutiny. democracy at work.
